My name is Anna Kaltsidou, and I am a sericulturist!
Sericulture is the cultivation of silkworms, and the end product of this activity is the cocoon, which is raw silk thread in its unprocessed form!
My love for silk was innate—an extraordinary material that I have been drawn to since childhood. Around 10 years ago, after collecting silk threads and fabrics from many places and countries, I decided to create my own silk cocoon production unit, which I still maintain to this day!
I raise silkworms, starting with the hatching of the eggs and culminating, after about 40 days, in the precious cocoon.
In my quest to find ways to make use of this valuable natural resource, I began creating silk accessories, jewelry, and home goods. All materials are made of silk, dyed with natural plant-based dyes, and handcrafted with care. They are environmentally friendly, leave no ecological footprint, and are gentle on our skin!
